Ticket911.ca is a Canadian criminal and penal law firm dedicated to traffic, driving offence, and impaired driving (DUI) defence. We're expanding into Alberta and looking for an early-career lawyer to handle a steady, firm-generated caseload — fully remote, on your own schedule.
What you'll do
- Defend impaired driving, over-80, and refusal charges under the Criminal Code (ss. 320.14–320.15) — including disclosure review, breath/blood analysis issues, and Charter applications (ss. 8, 9, 10(b)).
- Defend provincial matters under Alberta's Traffic Safety Act, prosecuted under the Provincial Offences Procedure Act (speeding, photo radar, careless/distracted driving, demerit-point and licence-related matters).
- Review disclosure, negotiate with Crown and prosecutors, and appear in Provincial Court (in person or remotely).
- Advise clients on demerit points, insurance impact, and consequences of a conviction.
- Manage your files through our case-management software, with marketing, intake, and admin support handled by the firm.
What we're looking for
- A lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- 0–5 years of experience — recent calls welcome.
- An interest in (or experience with) criminal litigation and Charter advocacy is a strong asset.
- Comfortable with high-volume, fast-turnaround work and self-directed remote practice.
- A reliable remote setup and strong written and verbal communication.
What we offer
- Independent contractor engagement — you control your hours.
- Fully remote, flexible full- or part-time.
- Base retainer plus commission.
- Training and senior support provided — you won't run impaired-driving files alone.
- Consistent file flow — no business development required.
