Duties
- Assist the dentist during all dental procedures, including exams, restorations, orthodontics, pediatrics, and surgical treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients as they arrive, updating medical histories, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Operate dental software such as Dentrix and Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Take digital impressions using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology for crowns, bridges, or orthodontic appliances.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with dental reception duties.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and assist in sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Dental Assistant with chairside experience preferred.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable.
- Experience working with orthodontics and pediatrics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including sterilization, patient positioning, and taking digital impressions (CAD).
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Previous experience supporting dental reception duties is beneficial but not required.
