The challenges that await you
You will act as an expert in the construction and repair of structures and civil engineering works under the responsibility of the City. You will be responsible for overseeing the structural and civil engineering works as well as municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring coordination and administrative and technical management of the projects under your responsibility. You will propose and collaborate on establishing changes to optimize work organization and standardize business practices, and you will ensure the implementation of adopted changes.
More specifically, you will:
- Be responsible for the execution of major structural, civil engineering, and art works projects, ensuring adherence to priorities, implementation stages, budgets, timelines, quality, and the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders. You will also ensure monitoring and control throughout the duration of the projects;
- Develop, design, and prepare documents related to the execution of works, and you will develop and propose technical solutions during the execution of the works;
- Seal the plans and preliminary estimates for the execution of structural, art works, and infrastructure projects;
- Prepare tender documents, analyze submissions, and submit your recommendations to your supervisor.
The ideal profile for us
- Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
- Have eight (8) years of relevant experience in the field of design and inspection of concrete infrastructures (underground concrete reservoirs, valve chambers) and wrought metals (hatches, guardrails, ladders, etc.);
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
- Possess safety training for construction sites (SST);
- Have a valid driver's license.
