Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in meat preparation and butchery. This role involves preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Meat Cutter will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specified standards and customer preferences
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality
- Operate meat cutting equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to food safety regulations
- Package meat products for retail display or wholesale distribution, ensuring proper labeling and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health standards
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of low supplies
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about meat cuts and cooking tips when necessary
- Follow all food safety protocols during handling, preparation, and storage processes
Skills
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in meat cutting or butchery
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in food preparation, including trimming, portioning, and packaging meats
- Ability to operate knives and specialized meat cutting equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise cuts and quality control
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads as needed
- Customer service skills to assist customers with product selection and inquiries
- Kitchen experience is preferred to facilitate smooth collaboration within the team
Pay: $16.75-$18.00 per hour
