Position:
Fund Financial Reporting is currently hiring an intern looking for a winter term position, January to April 2027. Candidates in an undergraduate program that will be returning to school after the internship to be eligible to apply.
This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.
Fund Financial Reporting is responsible for regulatory reporting for all IGM mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, pooled funds and offshore funds. The role works as part of a wider Fund Financial Reporting team to prepare and analyze financial, statistical and portfolio information for these funds.
Located in our Toronto office, the intern will be responsible for the following activities:
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing supporting documentation and working files for Passive Foreign Investment Company (PFIC) filings.

Assist in reviewing T3 tax factors for client slip preparation.

Assist in reviewing T3 tax returns, informational returns, and supporting documentation.

Review fund tax distribution working papers and supporting schedules prepared by third-party service providers for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare annual financial statements, Management Reports of Fund Performance (MRFP), Quarterly Portfolio Disclosures (QPD), and Fund Fact Sheets (FFS) for mutual funds and pooled funds.

Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all data for financial statements, MRFPs, QPDs, and FFS.

Coordinate with desktop vendors to produce final PDF documents, ensuring all updates to data, tables, and charts are accurately reflected.

Manage version control for various drafts of financial statements, MRFPs, QPDs, and FFS.

Assist with ad hoc reporting as required.

Improve processes using automation, Excel enhancements or AI capabilities.
Requirements:
- Registered students returning to school in 2026 in a related field (BCom, BBA, BA, BSc, etc.)

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines.

Familiarity with financial statements or International Financial Reporting Standards

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint,

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
