Join us this summer to promote Parks Canada sites in Manitoba. Work on a dynamic team of communications professionals, and learn how Parks Canada uses social media to increase visitation to its places. You will have the opportunity to gain office experience, participate in community parades, and support special events at Parks Canada’s national historic sites in southern Manitoba.

- Develop promotional materials and content for programs and events for Parks Canada’s website and social media channels (@ParksCanadaWpg / @ParcsCanadaWpg on Facebook and Twitter);
- Assist with developing and implementing social media strategies and campaigns with government messaging on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram;
- Assist with coordination of photo shoots at Manitoba South sites (The Forks, Riel House and Lower Fort Garry), based on needs for print, web and social media;
- Assist with on-site promotions at Parks Canada events;
- Assist in photo cataloguing, selection and preparation for the Parks Canada website and various apps;
Work will take place at Parks Canada’s downtown Winnipeg office, Parks Canada’s sites in southern Manitoba, and special events located in and around Winnipeg.
Intent of the process

This is an English position. French is an asset but not required.
Information on language requirements
- Experience and or familiarity working with Adobe Creative Suite ( InDesign and Photoshop)
Experience/ familiarity working within social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Experience with photography and editing photos is an asset but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a collaborative team environment;
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions accurately and efficiently;
- Ability to organize tasks and take initiative.

- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain and weather conditions by various means of transportation;

- Be in possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license
