Role Description:
The Post-Construction Cleaner is responsible for preparing newly built or renovated spaces for use by thoroughly cleaning and detailing all areas. In this full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, the cleaner will remove debris, dust, and construction residue from floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and surfaces. Daily tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces; cleaning windows, frames, and glass; and sanitizing washrooms, kitchens, and common areas. The role also involves safely using cleaning chemicals and equipment, following site safety guidelines, and reporting any damage or hazards to supervisors. The Post-Construction Cleaner works closely with site managers and team members to meet deadlines and ensure the property is ready for inspection and occupancy.
Qualifications
- Experience with post-construction or commercial cleaning, including dust removal, debris handling, and detailed surface cleaning.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning tools and equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor machines, ladders, pressure washers) and follow chemical safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality ensure all areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50lbs.
- Reliable time management skills, with the ability to follow schedules, meet project deadlines, and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
- Basic communication skills to follow instructions, coordinate with site supervisors, and document issues or completed tasks.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site regulations.
- Previous experience in cleaning, facilities, or building maintenance is an asset.
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
