Our client is seeking a technical and forward-thinking Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be a key contributor within the Finance team, responsible for managing core accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and making improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to apply strong technical accounting expertise while contributing to business growth, system enhancements, and evolving finance initiatives. Operating in a fast-paced SaaS environment, the Senior Accountant supports the development of junior team members and helps advance automation and AI-enabled solutions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, adaptable accounting professional who combines strong analytical and reporting skills with a collaborative mindset. Main responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortizations, lease accounting entries (IFRS) and revenue recognition adjustments, ensuring a timely and accurate month-end close
- Own specific balance sheet areas as well as maintain and update the fixed asset subledger
- Support revenue, billing, and accounts receivable processes while partnering with internal teams to resolve issues
- Prepare reporting packages for external stakeholders and support the preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights to support accurate business decisions
- Contribute to audits, compliance requirements, and the preparation of financial documentation
- Drive process improvements through automation, technology, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Support Finance system enhancements and help optimize tools, workflows, and reporting processes
- Collaborate with the Finance team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA designation complete or in final stages is required
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of IFRS
- Experience within a SaaS or public accounting environment is considered an asset
- System savvy and proficient in Excel
