About the Position
Green Isle Landscaping is looking for a reliable, hardworking Landscape Labourer to join our team in Edmonton.
We work on a variety of landscaping projects throughout Edmonton and the surrounding area. We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and can be counted on to show up on time and ready to work.
Responsibilities
Duties may include:
· General landscape construction and site preparation
· Installing sod, soil, mulch and decorative rock
· Planting trees, shrubs and other landscaping
· Grading and spreading topsoil
· Digging, raking and shovelling
· Loading and unloading landscaping materials
· Operating basic landscaping tools and equipment
· Moving materials using wheelbarrows and other equipment
· Job-site cleanup
· Assisting crew members with various landscaping tasks
Requirements
Applicants must have:
· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
· Reliable personal vehicle
· Ability and willingness to travel between different job sites throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas
· Reliable attendance and punctuality
· Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team
· Ability to follow instructions and work safely
· Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day
Previous landscaping, construction or general labour experience is an asset, but we are primarily looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking and willing to learn.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding, hands-on landscaping position. Applicants must be able to:
· Lift and carry a minimum of 55 lbs (25 kg) repeatedly throughout the workday
· Safely push and maneuver a fully loaded wheelbarrow
· Perform repetitive lifting, carrying, digging, shovelling and raking
· Work on their feet for extended periods
· Bend, kneel and squat throughout the workday
· Load and unload landscaping materials, tools and equipment
· Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including hot summer conditions
· Maintain a steady and productive work pace throughout the day
Applicants should be comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work for a full workday.
Schedule
Monday to Friday
Typical 9-10 hour day
Full-time daytime hours.
Compensation
$25.00 per hour
