Job Summary:
EHN Outpatient Services is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to support a workers compensation program focused on Gradual Onset Stress Injury in the workplace. The Occupational Therapist will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and making recommendations for treatment and intervention plans focused on client recovery and return to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:

Competently manage clients with operational stress injuries and various mental health concerns including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders
-
Work therapeutically with a diverse client population through individual therapy and assessment, group therapy, or other process groups, as required
-
Collaboratively develop treatment and care plans based on individual client needs utilizing occupational and rehabilitation focused service interventions
-
Monitor client progression on recovery and return to work goals, recommend adjustments to treatment plans, and identify barriers to client recovery and return to work, as required
-
Provide education to clients, as appropriate

Participate in case conferences with team members and service partners
-
Communicate effectively with team members and service partners within required timelines
-
Timely documentation, including completion of forms and reports, within required timelines
-
Collaborate effectively with team members and service partners
-
Participate in regular team meetings and consultation meetings
-
Engage in ongoing professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to the Human Resources Department

Act as a resource person for practicum students and other professionals as assigned

Requirements:
-
Registered Occupational Therapist with ability to practice in Nova Scotia
-
Master’s degree in occupational therapy (or equivalent)
-
2+ years’ experience working with clients with mental health, substance use disorders, trauma, concurrent disorders, etc.

Experience working with clients on disability services, workers compensation, etc. preferred
-
Experience supporting return to work preferred
-
Experience working with clients with operational stress injuries preferred
-
Experience providing care in a virtual environment an asset

Demonstrated commitment to client-centered care

Demonstrated excellent communication, facilitation and decision-making skills

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team
