Why is this role important?

The Creative Director is responsible for leading the creative in house team at Joe Fresh and overseeing retail level creative development for in-store and online. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with experience in creative development for both web and print for a national brand.

Lead and direct the creative team, delegating work, developing strategies, mentoring, and setting a standard for high quality and professional work for all marketing collateral
Manage communication and direction with external advertising agencies and internal and external designers from concept to completion
Work with agency to repurpose master campaign assets and concept smaller retail programs to align total brand execution for the season
Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met
Meet with senior leaders and internal clients to explain campaign strategies and solutions
Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams
Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams
Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff
Manage and cultivate the career development of staff members, including graphic designers, art directors, copywriters, etc.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism or a related field of study required.

A minimum of 7+ years professional work experience in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism and/or a related field, preferably for a fashion brand’s in-house design team or an award-winning agency.

An intimate understanding of design, copy and web best practices/guidelines
A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts
Ability to collaborate and give critical feedback on content, strategy, art, and story development
Comfort and skill interacting with clients and internal staff alike
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Must be highly organized, able to pick up things quickly, and create processes that scale in a highly dynamic, rapidly evolving environment
Mastery in a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, etc. and knowledge of the latest web, social, video, and design trends and technologies
Bilingual French language understanding is a plus
