Job Overview
The Housekeeping Manager oversees daily housekeeping, Public Areas, and laundry operations to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic appeal throughout guest rooms and public areas. This role focuses on leading the housekeeping team, managing inventory, ensuring efficiency, and optimizing guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Direct day-to-day operations for housekeeping, laundry, and public area maintenance. Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces daily to ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, housekeeping room attendants, laundry staff, and public areas attendants. Conduct regular performance evaluations, manage department disciplinary matters, and foster a positive working environment.
- Inventory & Budgeting: Manage department operating budgets, monitor labor costs, and track inventory for linens, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and equipment.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain chemical safety (OSHA/SDS) guidelines, uphold sanitization protocols, and enforce proper handling of lost-and-found items.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with the Front Desk to track room status and prioritize guest arrival needs, and collaborate with Maintenance to report and repair room defects promptly.
- Guest Relations: Address and resolve guest feedback or complaints regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of hotel housekeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, VisualMatrix, or similar hotel software, as well as basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 30–50 lbs), and navigate the property across multi-hour shifts.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Hospitality Management or related field is a plus.
- Availability: Open and flexible schedule required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as these represent peak operational demand.
Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
