Takwata Builders LP (TKBT) is a wholly owned Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN) business specializing in civil earthworks projects. Takwata was developed to serve mines and large-scale construction projects within their traditional territory.
Takwata Builders owns and operates a large fleet of earthwork equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, and rock trucks. Our senior personnel have extensive resumes in tailings pond construction, bulk excavation, ponds and ditching, and any earthworks project big or small.

Job Summary/Key Responsibilities Include:
- Safe operation and maintain various types of dozers (D6 or equivalent).
- Perform daily housekeeping of equipment.
- Operate in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
- Perform Field Level Risk Assessments prior to performing work.
- Conduct pre-operation checks of equipment.
- Perform a walk-around inspection before, during, and after every shift, and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
- Complete daily logs and daily reports on delays, production, and safety issues as applicable.
- Identify, report, and correct hazards.
- Punctuality.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes to ensure accurate and precise work.
- Collaborate with construction crews and other equipment operators to ensure project goals are met.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Move, spread, and strip earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities.
- Raise, lower, and manipulate attachments using manual and hydraulic controls.
- Operate equipment in successive passes over working area to achieve specified result, such as grade terrain or remove, dump, or spread earth and rock.
- Earth moving and grading, material pushing and clearing.
- Use shovel to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width, remove loosened material.
- Operate bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, meticulously examining tires, fluids, lights, and brakes to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Shovel out equipment tracks.
- Push, excavate, and move large amounts of dirt or rock.
- Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.
- Responsible for communicating any information changes to the Human Resource Coordinator (driver’s license, address, etc.).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years experience operating a dozer.
- Valid Drivers License Preferred.
- Capable of carrying a 1-meter lift of 12–30-inch rock.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Able to inspect and maintain machinery.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
- Experience operating Komatsu equipment considered an asset.
- Understanding of operating instructions.
- Possess both a mechanical and technological aptitude.
- Hand-eye coordination.
- Communicate effectively.

- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to operate, sit or stand for long periods.
