The Human Resources Senior Business Partner is responsible for supporting the employee life cycle of all team members. Specifically, the Senior Business Partner is accountable for leading the development and implementation of all progression, learning and development functions while contributing to and influencing all other People Operations functions and roles. This person is an active advocate for the business and leads through the demonstration of our values and competencies.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement career progression tools and strategies in support of the employee journey and progression plans
· Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy and ensure that all team members have access and awareness of the growth opportunities
· Lead the annual performance management cycle and process
· Design and maintain organizational policies, procedures, handbooks and standards in support of creating a safe, respectful and compliant workplace
· Support the recruitment efforts and initiatives for student, field and office
· Support the onboarding experience for student, field and office team members
· Be a key point of contact for team members in support of their employee journey and development; pro-actively support workplace and team member challenges on an individual and systemic base
· Act as an ambassador and actively promote and live our business values while providing visible leadership to all team members
· Contribute to the creation and successful implementation of the PO strategy that is aligned to the overall organizational goals and objectives
· Actively contribute to our culture of safety and quality through mentorship and advocacy
· Effectively collect, store and manage all information and documentation within our HRIS systems
· Maintain current knowledge with applicable labour laws and regulations within the jurisdictions of which the organization maintains its operations.
· Advise and collaborate with Department Leaders on employee relations, including progressive discipline, employee grievances, and terminations.
Minimum Qualification, Experience & Skills
- HR Degree or diploma is required. CPHR designation is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years working as an HR professional in a business setting.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset.
