This position is accountable for implementing and supporting sales and sales programs to achieve sales and margin objectives, as well as providing, sales support to customers and retail network, and aid in technical positioning, for the Proven Seed Brand / portfolio within the geography that the position is located. Main responsibilities include implementing sale programs to achieve territory sales and margin goals for all aspects of the Proven seed portfolio, which involves sales, coordination of meetings, product positioning, varietal understanding for the specific market, on the Proven Seed portfolio across all seed crop types and products.

What you will do:
Accountable to develops, implement and manage territory sales strategies, ensuring overall alignment with corporate objectives for the Proven Seed Brand/portfolio
Accountable for achieving sales and margin targets for the Proven Seed Brand/portfolio
Accountable for management of customer base and successful implementation of customer programs
Initiates key grower sales calls.
Responsible for managing customer set-up for approved credit and collection of new accounts
Responsible for staying abreast of new technologies, competitive information including pricing and programming, customer needs and regularly changes with Proven Seed Brand/portfolio for customers and retails
In conjunction with Division and Branch management, assist in the development of sales, operational and capital budgets
Provides leadership and coaching to Branch Managers, Crop Production Advisors and Agronomists in order to meet performance targets
Participates in the investigation and evaluation of product complaints including cost analysis, and recommends actions
Supports the Product Line Managers and Manager, Agronomic Services, in the co-ordination of all Proven agronomic and product positioning communication to the Division Management Teams, sales staff and customers
Supports the Proven Product Performance Plots, demo Plots and strip trials with the Manager Agronomic Services, research agronomists, internal staff and retails
Supports the complete Nutrien Ag Solutions’ value proposition which includes Loveland products, crop protection products, precision agriculture and fertilizer products when it comes to packaging with Proven Seed and seed treating plants / operations
Supports local tours of Research and Development farms and the breeding Research and Development stations
Provides feedback to Product Line Managers of requirements and key improvements to the portfolio specific to the area of representation
Creates and builds positive relationships with industry that impact and influence the success of the product portfolio
Performs other related duties as required

What you will bring:
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in agribusiness, sales agronomy and seed business.
University degree in Agriculture, Sciences or Commerce/Business Administration
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Established interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals.
Ability to manage time and resources effectively and to work toward documented quantitative goals.
Demonstrated oral, written and listening communication skills.
Strong public speaking skills
Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, word processing and communications applications within a Windows-based operating environment.
A self-starter, with strong agronomic skills with a proactive approach in building and maintaining relationships with customers and internal clients as well as the ability to manage effectively within a team-based work environment will realize success.
Past agronomist, Certified Crop Advisor status and public speaking experience would be considered an asset.
