Welcome to The Song Spot! We teach private and group lessons in piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, drums and violin, in addition to running a successful youth musical theatre company. Our skilled teachers are dedicated to fostering a love for the performing arts in our students of all ages!
We are currently looking for qualified instructor to teach one-on-one singing lessons, starting in July and then on through the fall, winter, and hopefully longer!
Requirements:
- Reliable, patient, open-minded and enjoy working with children;
- Access to reliable transportation;
- Able to work independently with limited to no supervision;
- Formal vocal training from a professional teacher or school;
- Able to teach technique and repertoire in a fun, engaging manner;
- RCM certifications are an asset, but not an absolute requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Encourage the joy of making music;
- Arrive to the first lesson on time, or a few minutes early;
- Help students develop the discipline and commitment required for success;
- Make learning just as fun as making music itself;
- Coach students towards goals, such as performances, auditions, recordings, etc;
- Building a strong relationship with the students to better help them succeed; and
- Give brief feedback to parents at the end of every lesson.
