Job Function Overview – Final Assembly Technician
A Final Assembly Technician is responsible for the completion of activities related to the final assembly of trailers. Activities may include; running air, electric or hydraulic lines, mounting tarps, wheels / tires, measuring, cutting and installing lumber, and or installing various sub assemblies. A Final Assembly Technician reports to the Assembly Bay Supervisor and plays a key role in assisting the Assembly Department meet its production goals.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by following assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
- Operate a wide variety of power and hand tools
- Detect quality issues and trouble shoot issues with design or production; communicate concerns to supervisor
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Follows direction and instruction from Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with various hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Attention to detail
