As a Dishwasher/Prep Cook at the Raging Spoon you will assist the kitchen crew of a food social enterprise which employs people with lived experience of mental health challenges; addiction; homelessness; gendered violence; and / or refugee challenges. Your primary responsibilities will be as follows:

■ Location based Business Manager and / or Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities:
- General food preparation and building cold dishes such as sandwiches and salads;
- Packaging and labelling of catering orders;
- Coordinate with team members on required food preparation;
- Effectively wash and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes and cutlery using appropriate methods;
- Ensure effective drying before placing items back in their appropriate locations;
- Assist the team in maintaining a clean working environment at all times;
- Sweep floors regularly and mop at appropriate times;
- Perform immediate clean-up of any broken glassware, dishware or customer spillage;
- Perform occasional basic food prep or service when requested;
- Maintain team-oriented, positive and professional relationships with staff;
- Interact with customers when needed in a positive and professional manner;
- Report to the Business Manager as your supervisor, taking direction when provided;
- Adhere to Working for Change policies and procedures;
- Adhere to organizational and municipal regulations for Food Safety and Workplace Health and Safety;
- Willingness to travel to and work at other sites when needed;
- Arrive at work on time, dressed in uniform and ready to work;
- Inform your manager of any required time off as far in advance as possible;
- Other related duties as assigned.
Hours of work: Shifts vary between Monday to Sunday, generally between 6:00 am to 8:00 pm up to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week based on operational needs for coverage and can be determined between you and your supervisor. Rate: $18.23 per hour.
The sites will be operational 365 days of the year, serving 3 meals a day and snacks. You must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays. There is a 30-minute lunch break depending on the length of your shift. There may be some variation with hours and locations due to business requirements, though you will primarily work at a single location.

Work Location: Raging Spoon Catering Company sites are located at 629 Adelaide Street West, Respite Centre at 69 Fraser Avenue and 1658 Queen Street West, Toronto.
