River Valley School is an independent school providing unparalleled education and character development for children aged 3 to grade 6. River Valley School is seeking a dedicated, adaptable and experienced Grade 6 Teacher to join our close-knit and dynamic team. The successful candidate will be someone who embraces the unique talents of every child, creates a safe, nurturing and innovative learning environment, and strives to make a difference in each child’s life.
Responsibilities:
Working under the direction and supervision of the Head of School and Academic Leadership Team, Elementary Teachers will:
- Promote, achieve, and maintain a high standard of instruction
- Assist students in acquiring ownership for their learning
- Assist with extracurricular activities and supervision during the school day
- Employ effective classroom management procedures to maximize student learning
- Be familiar with those sections of the School Act, the regulations of Alberta Education, and regulations of the Board that pertain to educator responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Education
- Interim or Permanent Alberta Teacher Certification
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience
To assist in the realization of these expectations a teacher shall:
- Meet or exceed Alberta Education curriculum
- Follow appropriate timetables and instructional plans
- Maintain appropriate order and classroom management
