What We Are Looking For
The Electrical Engineer/Designer is responsible for creating and preparing accurate detailed manufacturing information from customer supplied technical drawings, sales quotations & estimates and specifications.
The electrical engineer/designer shall prepare accurate deliverables within company and industry standards and codes, from specifications and detailed drawings.
Working with the project managers, engineering specialists, production manager and manufacturing employees, the electrical engineer/designer ensures that each design is completely and accurately documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage design responsibilities in accordance with schedules provided by project managers and proactively maintain action plan regarding design to mitigate project delays
- Develop all electrical drawings using AutoCAD
- Incorporate changes into electrical drawings from both clients and shop employees
- Collaborate with manufacturing employees to obtain feedback on design improvements
- Work with the project engineers on final inspections of packages to ensure As-built drawing properly reflect final product
- Provide support to the Project Administrator for final documentation to complete IOM manuals
- Provide support to Proposals/Sales Departments, fi required, for quotation development.
- Continually improve design plans to achieve maximum quality, manufacturability and cost effectiveness
- Communicate effectively with Project Group employees.
- Adhere to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system and actively participate in the quality improvement process
- Adhere to Chamco Policy Manual rules and regulations
Qualifications Required
The successful candidate for this role will have some combination of the following qualifications:
- Electrical Engineer with P. Eng. designation
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in CAD electrical design, including 3D design
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills & leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills and innovation ability
- Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment design is an asset
- Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision and to be a team player
