About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Instrumentation & Control Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and troubleshooting electrical control panels, working with automation systems, and supporting innovative fluid management technologies.
A key focus of this role is the assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment control panels and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical and automation control panels for treatment systems.
- Install and maintain instrumentation equipment including flow meters, pressure sensors, water quality sensors, controllers, and related devices.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and remote monitoring equipment.
- Support automation upgrades, prototype development, and system improvements.
- Perform maintenance, inspections, calibration, and site service visits.
- Prepare service reports and assist with monitoring and instrumentation documentation.
- Coordinate with field teams, project managers, and customers to resolve technical issues and support system performance.
- Assist with procurement of instrumentation and electrical components.
- Maintain safe work practices and follow all company and WorkSafeBC safety procedures.
- Provide technical support and assist with training of staff as required.
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial instrumentation, control systems, and electrical panel assembly.
- Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and automation controls.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot control systems.
- Comfortable working both in the shop and at field sites.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
