As an Intermediate Water Resources Engineer based in our Kelowna, BC office , you will play a key role within our Municipal Engineering team , helping shape resilient, climate‑ready communities across the Okanagan and Southern Interior. You will contribute to the planning, design and delivery of stormwater, drainage, hydrotechnical and municipal water systems, working on projects that support sustainable growth and infrastructure renewal.
Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across Municipal, Land Development, Transportation and Environmental services, this role offers meaningful technical responsibility, client exposure, and continued professional growth as you advance your career at WSP.
Your Impact
- Design and deliver stormwater management, drainage and hydrotechnical solutions for municipal infrastructure projects in both developing and established communities.
- Lead and contribute to preliminary, detailed and tender‑ready engineering designs that move projects efficiently from concept through construction.
- Prepare, review and validate engineering calculations, technical assessments and design criteria to support sound decision‑making.
- Build, run and refine hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess system performance, climate resilience and long‑term capacity needs.
- Author clear, concise technical reports, memoranda and supporting documentation for internal teams, municipalities and external stakeholders.
- Support proposal development, technical presentations and client meetings, contributing to successful project pursuits and ongoing relationships.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate water resources considerations into broader municipal and land development initiatives.
- Participate in field reviews and site visits to connect design intent with real‑world conditions and construction practices.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a focus on water resources or municipal infrastructure.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, or eligibility to obtain registration with EGBC.
- Several years of progressive experience in municipal water resources engineering, including stormwater management and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as PCSWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks, WaterCAD or similar modeling software.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS platforms for engineering design and coordination.
- Familiarity with BC municipal design standards , guidelines and approval processes.
- A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with the ability to manage priorities, collaborate effectively and contribute to high‑quality project outcomes.

Compensation
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
- MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 – $107,700
