Archbishop Joseph MacNeil School (AJM) is a K-9 school of approximately 720 students located in a growing area of southwest Edmonton. It serves a diverse population of students from the surrounding middle to upper-middle-class suburban community. The school is proud of its strong academic achievement, consistently scoring well above the provincial average on Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) each year.
The 450 junior high students are grouped in heterogeneous classes , including students in the regular stream, students with Individualized Program Plans, and English Language Learners. AJM also offers an Enhanced Academic Program for qualifying junior high students. Student emotional and academic support is a priority, with access to Student Services, academic support through an Instructional Coach, and assistance from educational assistants.
AJM fosters a strong sense of community and belonging through partnerships and involvement with St. Thomas More Parish, as well as numerous opportunities for students to engage in service learning and social justice initiatives throughout the school year. Buddy class partnerships between junior high and elementary students encourage mentorship, leadership, and positive relationships across grade levels.

Junior High Teacher- 1.0 FTE
Assignment : FSL 7, 8,9 and Religion 7,8,9. Because you will be teaching religion, you must be a practicing Catholic. Due to it being an open position, this could result in a continuous contract based on good evaluations and having the proper requirements.
