Helical Pile Installer

Rival Helical Piles is looking for a hardworking, reliable Helical Pile Installer to join our growing team. We install helical piles for decks, cottages, additions, sheds, pole barns, boathouses, and other construction projects throughout Southwestern Ontario.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position that is a great fit for someone who enjoys physical work, operating equipment, working with their hands, and being on different job sites rather than doing the same thing every day.
You will work alongside our installation team to safely and efficiently install helical piles using specialized equipment, including excavators, skid steers, and hydraulic installation equipment.
What You'll Do
- Install helical piles according to project specifications and engineering requirements
- Operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and other installation machinery
- Prepare and set up job sites for pile installation
- Assist with measuring, layout, positioning, and accurate placement of piles
- Load, unload, and organize equipment and materials
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and help troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Follow job-site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Work with the installation team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard
- Communicate with homeowners, contractors, and other trades professionally when required
- Travel to job sites throughout Southwestern Ontario
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's licence and reliable driving record – required
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, excavation, farming, or other hands-on trades is an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Physically capable of performing labour-intensive work, including lifting, digging, carrying, and working on uneven terrain
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around machinery
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Able to work independently as well as as part of a small team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with regular travel throughout Southwestern Ontario
The Job
This position is based out of our yard in Scotland, Ontario, but our projects take us throughout Southwestern Ontario. Travel is a regular part of the job, so applicants must be flexible and comfortable travelling to different job sites.
Most days involve working outdoors, operating or assisting with heavy equipment, and physically installing foundation systems. No two job sites are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who likes variety and hands-on work.
