Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to oversee daily operations for our branch location. This leadership role is responsible for operational performance, staff supervision, customer relations, equipment oversight, and overall branch efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, safety-focused, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced construction and aggregate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Leadership & Operations
- Oversee overall branch performance and operational results.
- Lead and supervise drivers, yard staff, dispatch, office administration, supervisors, and safety personnel.
- Set operational priorities and enforce company standards are followed.
- Act as primary decision-maker for branch level issues.
- Monitor branch performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management to inform decision-making.
- Provide oversight of shop and yard operations
- Oversee Aimsio/billing program processes
Safety Oversight
- Support and enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance
- Ensure safety programs, training, and reporting are maintained and followed.
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Ensure proper use, reliabilty, and cost control of delivery and yard equipment
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair scheduling
- Make recommendations regarding equipment needs and improvements
Customer & Market Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships with key gravel and aggregate customers
- Resolve escalated customer service issues professionally and efficiently.
- Represent the company positively within the community and industry
- Ensure high service quality and customer retention.
Financial & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor revenue, operating costs, overtime, margins and efficiency
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
- Provide regular performance reporting to ownership/management
Business Developement Support
- Identify sales opportunities and market trends
- Support long-term customer relationships and strategic initiatives
- Ensure quotes are submitted to clients accurately and on time
Staffing & Organizational Planning
- Participate in hiring, promotions, role changes, and disciplinary decisions
- Align staffing levels with seasonal demands and workload requirements
Qualifications
- Previous management or leadership experience in construction, concrete, gravel, transportation, or related industries preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience managing teams and operations
- Knowledge of equipment, fleet coordination, and yard operations is an asset
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
- Safety-focused mindset with strong leadership abilities
