Position Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic
Department: Mine and Equipment
Location: Tuvatu, Fiji
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Roster: TBD
Purpose
Provide excellent repair and maintenance for the Mine and Equipment Department of Lion One.
Key Accountabilities / Activities
Inspect mining equipment to ensure proper performance and detect faults/malfunctions.
Diagnose defects and implement repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Perform equipment removal, installation, alignment troubleshooting, and repair.
Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools.
Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance and ensure work meets manufacturers' specifications.
Clean, lubricate, and complete routine maintenance on equipment.
Repair heavy trucks and other mobile equipment.
Open work orders, source parts, and complete parts lists using available resources.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Position Required Capabilities
Skills / Abilities
Diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul mining equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum 5 years mechanical experience in an underground mining operation.
Ability to schedule and prioritize tasks.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Physically fit.
Knowledge
Practical understanding of drilling and mining methods.
Sound understanding of equipment operation on a daily basis.
Strong ability to read manuals and equipment information.
