The Digital Learning Specialist/eLearning Specialist plays a vital role in the development and management of diverse learning content, including eLearning, instructor-led, and blended training initiatives. With a focus on quality training that facilitates knowledge transfer and skill development, this individual will be responsible for guiding the overall training development process by analyzing learner needs, defining learning, behavioural, or performance objectives in collaboration with SMEs and business units, selecting instructional strategies and designing learning experiences, and tracking effectiveness through evaluation processes.

This role is also responsible for managing and maintaining the Learning Management System and its content in collaboration with the Learning and Development team while recommending new, online training resources and strategies to continuously develop our most important resource – our people.

You will have an impact by:
Developing training materials and author engaging, interactive courses while translating complex content into clear, effective learning experiences, including self-paced training, videos, and webinars, demonstrations and walkthroughs, micro-learning experiences, etc.
Designing assessments that provide feedback, reinforce learning and contribute to the achievement of learning objectives
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of developed learning materials and programs through research, data collection and analysis
Managing the employee interface and the Learning Management System (LMS) master user data, generate reports, and troubleshoot issues independently or with support teams to resolve technical or functionality issues
Developing strong working relationships across the business, working collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently to achieve targets and prepare deliverables
Assisting the Trimac Learning Center training team and initiatives, as required, contributing to the company’s orientation program or its delivery
Contributing to other learning, safety, and business initiatives, as required

What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Instructional Technology, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in teaching, instructional design, program planning, project management, or related field
Proficient with various eLearning authoring tools (iSpring, Storyline, Captivate, etc.)
Demonstrated experience with one or more Learning Management System (Moodle, Litmos, SuccessFactors, Absorb, etc.)
Comfortable with a variety of computer applications and tools including SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate among diverse groups and stakeholders across the business
Keen attention to detail to deliver top professional quality materials and programs
Desire to stay current with instructional methodologies and technological change, maintaining or upgrading technical, educational and adult learning skills
The additional stuff

Ability and willingness to travel throughout Canada and the United States
Digital/print media or video editing/animation experience an asset
Experience in transportation, another industrial setting, or related field an asset
French and/or Spanish language skills an asset
