SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Administration and Finance , the Administrative Assistant, Accounting, is
responsible for all accounting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Pays external suppliers and collects fees and revenues, prepares and makes bank deposits, records assets, processes debit and credit card payments, issues tax receipts, prepares reconciliations, administers clearing accounts, vehicle fleet and insurance claims and prepares monthly financial statements/reports. Ensures that all transactions receive proper authorization and performs inquiries and analysis as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Community College Diploma or University Degree in finance and/or administration and one year experience relevant to the
job responsibilities (within the past 10 years)
OR
Community College Diploma or University Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience relevant to the job
responsibilities (within the past 10 years)
COMPETENCIES:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Health and Safety (H&S) responsibilities, commitment to participate in health and safety activities and relevant Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training.
