Become a front-line ambassador for recycling at one of Edmonton's 21 outdoor Recycle Depots!

Use your customer service skills and physical fitness to provide Edmonton's citizens with superb recycling service. You will be part of a two person crew for most of your shift, driving to various Recycle Depots throughout the day to provide site maintenance.

As a Recycle Depot Attendant, you will:
Educate the public about available services and proper use of the facility
Help control onsite traffic and maintain the site to ensure customer safety and site cleanliness
Assist customers in unloading material, and ensure proper sorting of recyclables including removal of contaminants
Remove all items not suitable as recycling material
Keep the site and surrounding area free of litter to ensure the site is aesthetically acceptable to local businesses and residences
Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
:
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent Must be comfortable driving for a large part of the work day
Physically able to lift heavy items and work in various weather conditions
Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public in a customer service capacity
Ability to understand, prepare and execute oral and written instructions
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
Knowledge of household hazardous waste and the ability to handle material properly is an asset
Successful applicants may be considered for recall in the 2020 season.

Up to 5 temporary full-time positions for up to 11 months

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Hours of work will vary and may be subject to shift work, providing coverage 7 days per week.

Salary: $21.425 - $29.709 (Hourly)
