We are seeking Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to manage freight logistics, carrier coordination, and client communication. You will oversee load matching, track shipments in real time, build relationships with carriers and clients, resolve delivery disruptions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across operations.
Key Responsibilities3PL Freight Operations & Dispatch
- Coordinate, schedule, and dispatch full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments based on client specifications.
- Source, negotiate rates with, and onboard third-party motor carriers and owner-operators using load boards (e.g., Truckstop, Loadlink).
- Track and trace shipments in real time
Client Management & Customer Service
- Serve as the main point of contact for key shipping accounts, providing proactive shipment status updates and ETA changes.
- Field high volumes of inbound calls and emails from clients, drivers, and carriers regarding freight inquiries, quotes, and delivery updates.
- Address and resolve operational bottlenecks, transit delays, detention claims, damage issues, and customer complaints promptly.
Administrative & Load Documentation
- Collect, verify, and process critical shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), Proof of Delivery (POD), rate confirmations, and customs paperwork.
- Maintain accurate system records for load status, carrier profiles, billing logs, and customer account updates.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to resolve freight invoice discrepancies and ensure prompt billing.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
- Experience: 1 year of hands-on dispatch or logistics customer service experience within a 3PL, freight brokerage, or trucking environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) major load boards ( Truckstop, Loadlink). Strong proficiency in Excel and Outlook
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of trucking operations, equipment types (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Intermodal), DOT regulations, and HOS rules.
- Geographic Expertise: Strong knowledge of North American freight lanes, major shipping corridors, and local transit routes.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to negotiate carrier rates and de-escalate client issues under pressure.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including participation in an on-call/after-hours rotation as required by live load monitoring needs.
Work Schedule & Working Conditions
- Hours: Standard business hours [e.g., 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM] with required after-hours on-call coverage for active freight tracking.
- Environment: Fast-paced logistics dispatch floor requiring multi-screen handling, quick decision-making, and high phone volume.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$19.25 per hour
