The Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting and FP&A is a vital part of Well.ca’s Accounting team. The purpose of this role is to prepare various analyses regarding financial statement balances; to provide support in preparing timely and accurate financial statements; to provide support for annual budget preparation and various reporting/analysis; to invoice vendor rebates and services while maintaining accounts receivable collection under control. Additionally, this role includes responsibilities in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and forecasting, such as developing financial models, analyzing financial trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This position reports to the Controller.
Job Responsibilities

Ensure month end close is complete and accurate to support the proper preparation of various reports for management including monthly financial statements and other reports to drive business improvements

Ensuring financial statement integrity using knowledge of the business, processes and technical standards as a basis, including compliance with ASPE

Review and enter journal entries, accruals, and allocations in coordination with the financial period close

Partner with the Well.ca Leadership team to track and forecast KPIs and monthly financial results.

Act as a key point of contact for internal and external communication, including vendor inquiries and payment issues

Responsible for Accounts Receivable billings and collections

Contribute to and implement various continuous process improvements in the organization

Support annual budget process, reporting and analysis requirements

Monthly forecast reporting and supporting analysis requirements

Daily banking review and reconciliation

Responsible for tax compliance with provincial and federal sales taxes legislation (day to day) on vendor billings

Prepare and enter month end journal entries

Primary person responsible for all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations

Identify control, reporting and procedural issues for follow-up and resolution

Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance department

Assist with various type of external audit requirements
Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in accounting

Professional accounting designation (CPA)

5 - 10 years of experience in an accounting role

Hands-on ability to use an accounting software and high proficiency in Excel

Experience with enterprise resource planning is an asset, but not required

Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement in internal controls
