The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Construction Superintendent to take charge of our high-profile road/highway construction and large earthworks projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, manage large crews of 50+ professionals, and ensure that our projects not only meet but exceed the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Management:
- Oversee daily construction activities on road construction and large earthworks projects.
- Direct and manage large crews (50+ personnel), ensuring high productivity and adherence to project schedules.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, coordinating seamlessly with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.
Project Oversight & Execution:
- Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance on all projects.
- Review project blueprints, plans, and technical documents to ensure proper implementation.
- Monitor project progress and resource allocation, adjusting strategies to meet deadlines and budgets.
Team Coordination & Communication:
- Lead regular safety briefings and team meetings, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and senior leadership to address on-site challenges and drive process improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, incidents, and progress reports for management review.
Quality & Safety Assurance:
- Conduct regular site inspections and enforce quality control measures.
- Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
- Uphold the highest standards of workmanship in every facet of the project.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
- Extensive experience in road construction and large earthworks projects.
- Proven ability to manage large teams (50+ personnel) in a fast-paced construction environment.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, equipment, safety regulations, and quality control practices.
- Strong capability in interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., safety certifications, first aid) are highly desirable.
- A valid driver’s license and any other required permits for operating on construction sites.
