WOLFE Family Wellness is an Indigenous-led, family-centred 90-day residential program rooted in cultural healing, trauma-informed support, and community connection. Our mission is to create a safe, warm, and culturally grounded environment where families can heal, rebuild relationships, and reconnect to culture, identity, and wellness.
Position Summary
The Overnight Support & Monitoring Staff plays a critical role in maintaining the home's safety, comfort, and stability during the night. This team member ensures that the program environment remains calm, secure, and supportive while families rest and transition through their healing journey. The ideal candidate is reliable, observant, compassionate, and able to respond calmly and confidently to nighttime needs, concerns, or emergencies.
This position does not require clinical work but does require strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a commitment to cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable overnight presence for families participating in the residential wellness program
- Monitor the home environment regularly and complete routine safety checks throughout the night
- Offer support to families as needed, including comfort, de-escalation, or problem-solving
- Document any overnight events, concerns, or observations for the day team to review
- Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations using trauma-informed approaches
- Maintain confidentiality, emotional safety, and respect for personal boundaries at all times
- Support morning routines as needed (light breakfast setup, check-ins, communication with staff)
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with families while maintaining professional boundaries
- Uphold WOLFE’s values of respect, cultural safety, dignity, and relational care
- Collaborate with cultural staff, day staff, and leadership to maintain continuity of care
- Assist with light housekeeping, organization, and preparation for the next day’s programming
- Complete nightly logs, incident reports, and communications for the Family Wellness Manager
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure the safety and well-being of families
Qualifications
- Experience in human services, residential support, crisis response, childcare, or a related role an asset
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice, cultural humility, and relational care
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Indigenous cultural safety, protocols, and community values
- Ability to stay alert and responsive throughout overnight shifts
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, grounded, and supportive during crises or emotional situations
- Must obtain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and an Intervention Record Check
- First Aid & CPR Level C (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
- Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently
- Lived experience is welcomed and valued as meaningful knowledge
