Overview
Gaucho Canmore is looking to add a Bartender / Assistant Front House Manager to its leadership team. This role combines exceptional bartending skills with front-of-house leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Front House Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, provide outstanding guest experiences, and support the front-of-house team. When the Front House Manager is absent, the Bartender/AFHM will act as the front-of-house lead.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and responsibly, adhering to all food safety and alcohol service regulations.
- Manage front-of-house operations, including overseeing guest seating, order accuracy, and timely service delivery.
- Utilize POS systems such as Micros POS for order entry, billing, and cash handling with accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns promptly.
- Assist in training new staff members on service standards, POS operation, and food safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and dining space in compliance with health standards.
- Manage cash register operations, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for transactions.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels of beverages and supplies.
- Uphold food handling standards when assisting with food service or supporting kitchen staff as needed.
- Lead by example in demonstrating hospitality excellence, teamwork, and professionalism.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is highly desirable.
- Strong background in customer service, serving, and food safety practices is essential.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining high-quality service.
- Experience with cashiering, cash handling, and basic math skills are necessary for accurate transactions.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and hospitality standards will be considered an asset.
