We currently have a Regular Part-Time opportunity for a Patient Administrative Associate in the 7 East department at our Holland Campus.
Hours of Work:
Weekends: Days; 8hrs with occasional 5.5hrs; As per schedule
Statutory Holidays Required.
Summary of Duties
Responsible for providing administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the nursing units by:
Assisting in coordinating nursing unit activities;
Coordinating patient admission/discharge/transfer;
Liaising with both internal and external customers;
Responding to telephone and reception inquires for both internal and external customers;
Assumes other responsibilities and duties as required.
Successful completion of secondary school required;
Post-secondary business/secretarial courses;
Successful completion of SHSC PAA training;
Computer/typing skills including Windows and MS Word are required;
Keyboarding at 40 w.p.m. or 106 n.k.p.m.;
Minimum two years’ experience in a busy Nursing Unit preferably in a hospital/health care environment;
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and diplomacy while providing excellent customer service;
People person with strong verbal and written communication skills, customer focused, with attention to detail;
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals;
Excellent organizational skills.
