ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians to support our client with industrial, offshore, and field operations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. This role offers a combination of shop-based work, field assignments, and offshore projects supporting testing, commissioning, maintenance, and specialty mechanical services. Candidates with offshore experience, a strong mechanical background, and industrial trade experience are encouraged to apply
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform hydro testing, pressure testing, nitrogen pumping and testing activities.
- Complete bolt torquing and tensioning operations.
- Assist with chemical cleaning, flushing, and mechanical service work.
- Service and maintain pumps, heat exchangers, and associated equipment.
- Conduct equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Complete job-specific documentation, service reports, and safety paperwork.
- Participate in toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, and safety meetings.
- Operate industrial equipment and tools in accordance with safety procedures.
- Travel to onshore, remote, and offshore worksites as required.
- Support ongoing operational and project-based work throughout the year.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- 3-5 years of industrial or mechanical experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Clear Certificate of Conduct.
- Basic Survival Training (BST). (Can be provided)
- Ability and willingness to travel for field and offshore assignments.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
PREFERRED
- Offshore experience.
- Journeyperson or apprentice Millwright.
- Journeyperson or apprentice Pipefitter.
- H2S Alive.
- Offshore Medical.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with pressure testing, chemical cleaning, bolting, hydro testing, or commissioning services.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Shop hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Field assignments may involve 12-hour shifts.
- Offshore assignments may involve 12-hour shifts and rotational schedules.
- Work may occur indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in various industrial environments.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and working around industrial equipment.
COMPENSATION
- Shop: $28-$30/hour
- Field: $38-$40/hour
- Offshore: $48-$50/hour
Compensation is based on experience, certifications, and assignment type.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Safety boots required.
- Company PPE provided for shop and offshore work.
- Candidates must follow all safety procedures, participate in safety meetings, and adhere to established safe work practices.
