Cenovus is looking for highly motivated and ambitious Occupation Health & Safety students to join our team. We have a number of opportunities within our Health, Safety, Environment & Regulatory function.
This position is for a 4-month term based at one of our Oil Sands sites (7 on and 7 off shift schedule), beginning in May 2020.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in preparing safety related management reports and presentations
Participating in reviews of safety performance, systems and studies
Assisting management in implementing effective solution to safety issues
Providing guidance to front line supervisors and workers on approaches to safety
Assessing and attesting contractor safety programs
Participating in formal investigations of incidents and near misses
Your job performance will be reviewed periodically throughout and appraised at the end of the term, culminating with a formal presentation to a range of stakeholders and evaluators.

Available to begin work May 2020
Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety diploma program at an accredited university/ college and returning to studies after the work term
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (please attach copies of your transcripts)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Understanding of key safety principles and demonstrated safety leadership
