As Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor and collaborate with operations and senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that foster an inclusive culture, boost employee engagement, and drive business growth.

ROLE:
The Senior HR Business Partner is responsible for the evolution, execution, and maintenance of all Human Resource programs and initiatives. The Senior HR Business Partner models and delivers strong leadership, coaching and planning for the organization. This person handles sensitive information and must conduct themselves with strong ethics, integrity, and impartiality at all times and is bound by strict confidentiality expectations.
The four pillars of this Human Resources position include:
1. Talent Acquisition (recruitment, onboarding & retention, offboarding)
2. Talent Management (performance program, training program, development & succession)
3. Organizational Design (compensation program, compliance, organizational development)
4. Employee Experience (culture, employee relations, safety)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhance, develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure Fraser Direct’s compliance with the ESA, OHSA, OHRC, and any other applicable legislation
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring and on-boarding of employees. Provide guidance on candidate selection, employment offers, training plans, and performance management
- Manage the Health & Safety Program and ensure compliance
- Ensure adequate documentation, security, and confidentiality of employee files
- Provide hands-on employee relations management to support Managers/Supervisors in best practices management of staff (meetings, performance management, progressive discipline etc.)
- Ensure training is administered for various programs (onboarding, health & safety, GMP, WHMIS, material handling etc.)
- Plan and execute staff social initiatives, actively prioritizing employee engagement
- Remain current with best practices, legislative changes and industry standards. Advise managers on organizational matters such as harassment, discipline, etc.
- Keep management apprised of human resources trends. Based on results/feedback - determine root cause issues and develop recommendations for improvement
- Communicate company-wide information clearly and in a timely manner
- Make suggestions for continuous improvement initiatives and strategies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field, or comparable work experience
- Proven track record with at least 5 years of HR leadership experience
- Experience overseeing Payroll compliance and processing
- Multi-tasking and organizational skills, with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; a people-centred approach
- Strong moral compass and ethical code, ability to maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality
- Proactive approach to addressing HR risks, opportunities, and future planning
- Self-starter, creative independent thinker with strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel locally between facilities to provide HR service and support
- Nice to Haves:
- Exposure to Ceridian Dayforce, or comparable HRMS/Payroll software
- Experience in a frontline work environment (e.g. warehouse, manufacturing, transportation)
