We're looking for a motivated, compassionate, and hands-on Mobility & Equipment Specialist to join our growing team.

While experience with medical equipment is considered an asset, we are prepared to train the right candidate who demonstrates excellent customer service, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Position Summary
The Mobility & Equipment Specialist is responsible for delivering, installing, educating, and supporting clients with a variety of home medical and mobility equipment. As one of the primary faces of AGTA Home Health Care, this individual provides exceptional customer service while ensuring clients receive the equipment and education they need to live safely and independently.
Beyond equipment delivery, this role works collaboratively with our nursing, therapy, and home modification teams to identify opportunities that improve the client experience. The successful candidate will also assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and community relationship building while contributing to the continued growth of our Products & Accessibility division.
Key Responsibilities
Client Care & Equipment Solutions
- Deliver, install, and safely set up home medical equipment including:
- Hospital beds
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers
- Bathroom safety equipment
- Lift chairs
- Mobility devices
- Other home accessibility equipment including home modifications.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on proper equipment use and safety.
- Complete equipment demonstrations with confidence and professionalism.
- Ensure every installation is safe, functional, and tailored to the client's needs.
- Provide outstanding customer service during every interaction.
Product & Accessibility Support
- Identify opportunities where additional equipment or accessibility solutions may benefit clients.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and Care Coordinators to recommend appropriate products.
- Support home accessibility and modification projects by assisting with assessments and product recommendations.
- Participate in community events, educational opportunities, and referral partner visits when appropriate.
- Represent AGTA professionally within the healthcare community.
Equipment Maintenance & Inventory
- Prepare equipment for delivery through inspection, testing, cleaning, and quality assurance.
- Retrieve rental equipment and perform sanitization according to infection prevention standards.
- Complete repairs and adjustments as required.
- Maintain an organized warehouse and inventory system.
- Assist with inventory counts and equipment tracking.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
Operations & Documentation
- Coordinate daily delivery schedules efficiently.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic records.
- Prepare order quotes and purchase orders.
- Prepare and complete Assistive Device Program (ADP) assessments and applications.
- Obtain required client signatures and confirmations.
- Assist office staff with inventory updates, accounts receivable and scheduling.
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and organization.
- Follow all transportation and equipment handling procedures.
Health & Safety
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety policies.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
- Safely lift and transport equipment using proper techniques.
- Report incidents, hazards, or equipment concerns immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with all client information.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment up to approximately 75 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Comfortable working independently throughout the community.
- Positive attitude with a genuine passion for helping others.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in customer service, retail sales, healthcare, logistics, or another client-facing environment.
- Experience with mobility or medical equipment.
- Sales experience would be considered an asset, but is not required.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience assembling equipment.
- WHMIS & JHSC Certified
No previous medical equipment experience? No problem.
