We're building a welcoming space where locals can grab a top-notch espresso, enjoy artisanal sandwiches, salads and treats, and feel at home—whether they’re on the go or staying for a chat. We're looking for passionate, energetic individuals to join our team.
Job Summary:
All our team members are crosstrained on all positions, from baking to sandwich service to barista-ing. You’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, providing excellent guest service and helping shape the café’s daily rhythm and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and take food and drink orders accurately
- Use Toast POS or similar point-of-sale system to process orders and take transactions efficiently
- Has excellent menu knowledge for both food/coffee counters and retail options: can answer customer questions about the menu, ingredients, and specials
- Prepare basic drinks (coffee, tea, bottled beverages)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counters, drink station, and seating area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely orders
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and food handling procedures
- Assist with restocking, cleaning, and beginning/end-of-day tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced food service or café environment preferred
- Experience in minor food prep (baking cookies/breakfast pastries, panini pressing) an asset
- Friendly, positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work quickly under pressure
- Barista skills or coffee preparation experience is an asset
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Smart Serve Certified
- Food Handlers Certificate a plus
