The Calgary Winter Club Preschool provides an opportunity for children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and developmentally. Our teachers provide a supportive, nurturing environment that fosters each child’s style of learning. Our lessons are designed to be hands on, interactive, age appropriate, and developmentally suited to the level of the children in our classes. We value the balance between play and structure. The Classroom Lead Early Childhood Educator is responsible for offering a safe, creative, fun, and challenging class setting for the children. The teacher is responsible for creating their own lesson plans, and facilitating independent lesson plans containing crafts, cooperative games, creative arts, outdoor play, and hands-on activities with crafts, games, and activities. Duties will include ensuring everything in their class follows the Preschool Program Plan, ensuring all the licensing requirements are met, taking attendance, planning and preparing the lessons, as well as supervising and interacting with the children and families.
Key Accountabilities
1. Understand Club policies and procedures in accordance with applicable safety manuals and the Employee Handbook; be safety conscious and know the emergency response procedures to direct class participants should an emergency arise.
2. Be present at least 20 minutes prior to and post class time to prepare, clean, check equipment, set up the classroom, discuss the plan for the day with the teacher
3. Communicate with the Preschool Manager about any problems, concerns, or complaints.
4. Complete daily class reports, incident reports when injuries occur in the class and inform Manager of Preschool/Childminding.
5. Ensure the utmost standards and professionalism to all members, staff, and instructor at the Club.
6. Understand and follow the “Preschool Program Plan” and the “Administrative Policies”

Qualifications
1. First Aid certificate and Infant/Child C.P.R.
2. Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification
3. Vulnerable Sector Check (or obtain within 8 weeks of start date)
4. Previous Preschool Teaching experience
5. Knowledge of Flight, Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework
6. Training in Learning Without Tears, Zones of Regulation, or Jolly Phonics is considered a strong asset for this position.
We are looking for a part-time Lead Early Childhood Educator for the 2026-2027 school year for weekday mornings.
For the 2026-2027 school year we are looking for a Lead Early Childhood Educator for the following class:
· Monday to Friday mornings (Mon/Wed/Fri 4 year old class, Tues/Thurs 3 year old class)
