Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive Construction Project Coordinator with 1–2 years of hands-on industry experience to drive our project workflows. You must be able to independently read architectural plans, hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence, and stay aligned with WorkSafeBC standards. A solid technical understanding of ceramic tile and stone installations is essential for success in this role.
Daily Tasks/Top priorities: Transmittals and submittals, including, but not limited to, physical samples, grout samples, product data sheets, cut sheets, shop drawings, manufacturer's literature, material certifications, test reports, mock-ups, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, warranties, and all other documents or materials required for review and approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Work closely with the Tile Project Manager and other stakeholders to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules.
- Track project milestones, adjust schedules as needed, and ensure all timelines are met.
- Logistics & Procurement
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of all materials required for tile installation.
- Oversee production timelines, inventory management, and ensure materials are available on-site as scheduled.
- Site Coordination & Quality Control
- Conduct regular on-site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and maintain quality control.
- Work with tile installation crews to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Lead final deficiency walk-throughs and assist with project close-out and client handoff.
- Communication & Team Coordination
- Serve as a central point of contact among project teams, subcontractors, site personnel, and management.
- Facilitate clear, timely communication to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
- Estimating & Takeoffs
- Assist Project Managers in preparing accurate project takeoffs, material lists, and cost estimates.
- On-Site Support
- Attend site meetings and project reviews, occasionally requiring overtime or extended hours for supervision or client coordination.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and adapt to changing project needs.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality.
- Prior experience in construction or tile project coordination is an asset, but not mandatory.
