Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting precise inspections and evaluations of materials and structures to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, blueprint reading, and schematics, along with excellent data collection and analysis skills. The NDT Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of construction projects by identifying potential defects before they become critical issues. Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing procedures such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, or eddy current testing on various materials and components.
- Collect accurate data during inspections and document findings thoroughly for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Analyze inspection results to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from specifications.
- Review construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements and inspection points.
- Conduct construction inspections to verify adherence to safety standards, building codes, and quality control protocols.
- Collaborate with construction teams to communicate inspection results and recommend necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain calibration of testing equipment and ensure all tools are functioning correctly before use.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies during all inspection activities.
Additional Information:
- Overtime pay is provided after 8 hours of work on weekdays and all hours on weekends and holidays
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid driver's license
- Technical background in non-destructive testing
- Strong computer skills required, including the ability to operate computerized equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving & decision-making skills
- Additional CGSB certifications are an asset
Experience:
- Previous work in NDT is an advantage
- Facility maintenance and construction
- Pipeline integrity and construction
- Thorough understanding of regulatory and operating approvals and procedures
- Min. 1-year practical experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
