Job Overview
Well established Oakville manufacturer is looking for a dedicated Receiver to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing incoming shipments, accurately receiving and inspecting goods, and ensuring proper storage and documentation. Your expertise in forklift operation and warehouse management systems will be essential to maintaining smooth warehouse operations, supporting order fulfillment, and facilitating timely shipping and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent Hire. Candidates available for longterm only welcome to apply.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (7:30am-4pm/8am-4:30pm)
Duties
- Load, unload and transport goods within the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Receive incoming shipments by verifying delivery documents against purchase orders and inspecting goods for quality and accuracy.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to document receipt of inventory accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular updates in warehouse distribution systems.
- Support receiving and shipping activities by preparing necessary documentation, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during forklift operation and general warehouse activities.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to optimize warehouse flow and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- 2- 3 years' experience working in a Shipping and Receiving role
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP (Material Requirements Planning) platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management.
- Experience with packaging materials and techniques for safe product handling.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Proven ability to load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Forklift certification considered an asset.
