Seeking to hire a Coordinator committed to promoting inclusion, belonging, family-centred practice, and equitable access to community-based supports. Through respectful partnerships with children, families, Indigenous communities, MCFD, and community agencies, the Coordinator contributes to a culture that recognizes the strengths, abilities, and potential of every child and youth.
The Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of the MCFD funded Lifeskills and Respite program for children and youth with support needs from birth to 19 years of age.
The Coordinator collaborates with families and referring MCFD social worker to identify goals within the approved program, coordinates services, supervises Family Support Workers, provides parent education, evaluates program outcomes and ensures services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, Ministry expectations and organizational policies.
- Bachelor of Social Work required; Master of Social Work preferred.
- Registration in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW) and maintained throughout the employment
- Three to five years' experience in family-centred practice supporting children and youth with support needs, including service coordination, staff supervision, parent education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Located in the beautiful South Peace region of British Columbia. Dawson Creek is close to the foothills of the Rockies and offers easy access to camping, hiking, biking, skiing and sledding. Dawson Creek is Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway and is considered to be the gateway to the North, the Yukon and Alaska.
