Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Meat/Deli Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meats and deli products, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and slice meats, cheeses, and deli products according to company standards and customer requests
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation compliance
- Manage inventory levels, restock displays, and organize the deli area for optimal presentation
- Upsell products to increase sales while ensuring customer needs are met
- Ensure cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards
- Follow food safety guidelines related to storage, labeling, and expiration dates
- Support team members during busy periods by assisting with food preparation and serving
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and sanitation standards
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during shifts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen or food handling experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed
- Experience preferred but not necessary
