We are currently seeking a Research Analyst to join our Office of Planning & Accountability team.
Job Overview
KPU’s Office of Planning and Accountability is recruiting a Research Analyst. Reporting to the Manager of Institutional Analytics, the Research Analyst provides the office with technical and analytical expertise on a variety of institutional research projects to support strategic planning, evidence-based decision making and the University’s external and internal reporting needs.
Core to the role are the collection, compilation, verification and transformation of data into value-added information and reports. This entails the use of a range of internal and external data sources, and the development, management, and manipulation of complex datasets required for analysis and reporting.
The Research Analyst designs and executes reports and relevant data visualizations (including dashboards) to communicate institutional data to a range of users with varying levels of expertise. The role also includes the development of analytical models to support forecasting, planning, and decision-making and prepares and validates data submissions for external government bodies and agencies.
This position includes an exceptional benefits and pension plan. The Office of Planning & Accountability is located on the Surrey Main campus (72 Ave). This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, including a combination of in-office and remote work. The successful candidate may work fully on campus if desired.
Priority consideration will be given to BCGEU employees currently impacted by layoff at the same or lower pay grade.
Education and Experience
This exciting position requires exceptional analytical skills, technical skills and reporting abilities. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Data Analytics or a related field with an emphasis on research methodology is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. A minimum of three years’ related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in a post-secondary education environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience working with complex computer applications and databases as well as advanced knowledge of and experience with microcomputer applications, such as spreadsheets, presentation software, database applications and business intelligence software, is essential in this role. This role also requires a keen attention for details, an organized and systematic approach to work and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, Ministry representatives and other internal and external bodies.

Salary Information
