We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sample Preparation Manager who embraces advances in technology and is looking for an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage and implement the reception of samples and the initiation of work order process (Login) as described in the Paragon Laboratory Manual SOP; primary responsibilities include:
· Receive, open and layout samples, ensure paperwork is correct and confirm all required samples are received
· Transport samples into lab, some heavy lifting required (up to 23kg)
· Enter all pertinent information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
· Determine and implement corrective action when client sample processing instructions are missing, incomplete or ambiguous
· Work closely with managers periodically to ensure the smooth flow of samples through the lab
· Shipping and receiving duties may be included on occasion, including processing of supplies received
· Complete orders for inventory (bags, labels, etc.), including tracking to ensure timely and accurate execution
· Ensure adherence to SOP, safety, QC and related policies by all login staff
· Work in liaison with the lab manager regarding issues involving corrective action, risks and opportunities, HR, etc.
· Manage staff drying, crushing, splitting, pulverizing and warehousing reject samples and pulps
· Coordinating and scheduling sample pick-ups
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
· Excellent communication skills to collaborate with operators, maintenance specialists, and company management.
· Resourcefulness in quickly learning manuals and processes related to machine operation.
· Attention to detail to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
· Proficiency in forklift and pallet jack operation.
Education & Experience
- A minimum of three years of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory positions.
- Supervisory experience in a production environment is highly desirable..
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Detail orientated and ability to work well under pressure
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
