Job Summary
Surefire Automotive is a small, family owned and operated automotive repair shop seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Journeyman Technician to join our team. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the automotive repair industry and a passion for providing top-notch service to our clients.
Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. We are closed on weekends and stat holidays. Opportunity for additional hours when we attend various car shows throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle problems accurately.
- Communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle's needs and repair options.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Must be competent, trustworthy and punctual.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Automotive Technician.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components on both gas and diesel vehicles.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Not a requirement but a valuable asset to have welding and fabrication experience along with skills and a passion for working on high performance and classic vehicles.
