Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of inventory within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and the ability to operate various material handling equipment safely and effectively. Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Assist with order picking and inventory management using warehouse management systems
- Entry orders in the system and prepare orders
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement
- Perform heavy lifting as required to move products safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and stock levels
- Support warehouse organization by ensuring products are stored correctly and safely
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders accurately and on time
- Follow safety protocols at all times during material handling activities
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics preferred.
- Prior experience with data entry, inventory check and filling.
- Proficiency in operating forklift, clamp truck, and order picker equipment
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
- Experience with order picking processes in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols
